Too many books, too little time.
Brother's Keeper - Elizabeth Finn 4 “walk-in freezers” stars! (ah ah ah)

This book was a surprisingly good reading. I’ve got to say that I wasn’t expecting liking it as much as I liked.

This is the story of Rowan and Logan.
Rowan is Logan’s younger sister best friend, Sara, and they been close for years. Since Rowan has a pretty bad life at home she spends a lot of time with Sara’s family. (Logan included!)

One night after an especially bad night at home, Rowan calls Sara to come get her, but who ends up picking up her phone is Logan and he is the one who goes save Rowan. After that night everything changes and they start to see each other in a completely different way.

But the fact that he is her best friend older brother whom she knows for years, he is also seven years older, has a girlfriend and will soon finish college and move to another town. And neither of them wants to start something that soon has to be over.

description

“I want him to reach out to me, but I know he can't. He can't for all the same reasons I can't. It hurts too much. It's like an alcoholic taking a sip of wine; the pleasure of the indulgence would be immediate and swift, but the aftermath would be devastating.”

Well, let me just tell you that not only this book has an awesome story and characters, is also hot as hell. A friend advised me to get a walk-in freezer before reading it, and boy, was she right!

Anyway, this was a really good reading and the only thing that made me “itch” was the fact it was written in the present tense. (I don’t know why, but for me books should always be written in the past tense xD)

Go read people ;)
Thief (Love Me With Lies, #3) - Tarryn Fisher Wow, this book felt like the end of a journey. And in a certain way it was: a completely awesome and f***ed up journey.
And I loved every single second of it.

description

Life isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s amazing and other times it screws with us and laughs in our face.
Sometimes it takes us on journeys that we never asked or even imagined.
And sometimes life puts someone in our paths, that nothing will ever be able to remove them from there. Sometimes we find someone who becomes our fate.

description

Caleb and Olivia was one of those stories. For years and years, with every obstacle possible thrown in their away they were never able to stay away from the other.
No matter how many times life screwed with them, they would always end up in each other’s path again. There are loves bigger than life itself. There are people who are meant to be.

description

This was not a perfect love story. It was hard, consuming, painful, hurtful and sometimes simply wonderful.
But it was their story. Their love was amazingly beautiful in its own broken way and I feel lucky for having the chance to read their story.

This will definitely become a series that will remain with me for a long time.
Tarryn Fisher, without a doubt, was capable of turning a simple love story into a masterpiece.
I really advise you to read these series. ;)

(And now the important part: Look at that cover. LOOK!! Isn't Caleb hot as hell??)
Left Drowning - Jessica Park 4.5 Sea urchins stars!

I was a fan of Jessica Park since I’ve read “Flat-Out Love” and I started this book knowing that I would probably like it. But this was a surprise. It was a completely different story than what I was expecting and I didn’t liked it… I pretty much loved it! ;)

description

Blythe is broken by her parent’s death. She only has her brother left but their relationship is strained. She bears fears, guilt and sadness that no one understands. She is lonely because she can’t even be herself long enough to make friends.
She feels like she’s drowning in her own dark past.

description

On the day she meets Chris she slowly starts to breathe again. Their relation helps her feeling alive again. She almost dares being happy again.
But as she starts to surface, she realizes that Chris is the one drowning this time.
And he is so broken that he may never surface again.

description

But she knows she won’t give up on him. Like he helped get her head above water, she will do the same for him.
Or drown with him, trying.

description

Besides the romance one of the things I loved more about this book was Chris brothers. They are all broken but they are tight and support the others no matter what. And the way they welcomed Blythe like she was their own sister was adorable to see.

Basically a brilliant story, with a perfect writing style and perfectly imperfect characters.
If you like books with romance, angst and some steam… you really need to read this book. :)
Temptation in Texas: Logan and Lauren - Lynda Chance If you need a quick reading (like when you're waiting for someone to arrive, or for an appointment or something like that) this is good for that.
A sweet and fast read :)
Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies, #2) - Tarryn Fisher 4 psychotic and bitchy stars!

I don't think I've ever read a book as fast as I’ve read this one. I was postponing the reading of this book so I could read it closer to Thief’s releasing date. (Basically I was gathering courage to read it since TO left me d emotionally drained).
So when I say on FB that it was already alive on Amazon I dropped everything… and when I say everything I say: dropped the book I was reading, stopped doing anything and talking to people in general and started reading immediately.
I’ve read in just a few hours and it did not disappoint. The awesome mindfuck was all here again.

description

This book is told under Leah’s POV and we get to know how she and Caleb ended up together (I really love this past flashbacks) and everything that happened after the end of the first one and after she had he baby.
And after reading her story, believe me, I still hate her like crazy, but it’s definitely not easy knowing that you’ll always be a second choice.

description

I’ve got to say that this was the first time I liked so much a book where I actually hate the female heroine.
Leah is a bitch, is very aware of that and has no intentions of changing. We see that Caleb is also not so innocent in the middle of all this, but we can’t stop loving him anyway.

This is not as angst as the previous one (Thank god!!) but it still makes you bleed a little. This author is a genius and her writing and ability to create completely awesome and a psychotic stories grab us from the very first page.
And that end… god, that end! I need the third one, now!
Fear of Falling - S.L. Jennings 4.5 Origami Stars!

When I started reading this book I confess I wasn’t expecting liking it so much. I assumed it was just another NA book, with a similar line story. Boy was I wrong!
Well, this is I fact a NA book with a slightly similar line story, but the way its told, turn this in one great book that you will not be capable to stop reading.

description

“Funny thing about life is that it never turns out the way you want it to.”

Fear.
Fear is everything Kami known all his life. Being abused for year after year without anyone to protect her she soon learned that monsters are real and life’s a bitch. Not everyone has happy endings. Some people just learn to survive and live knowing that their monster will never go away.

description

So when she meets Blaine, she became even more scared than usual. Because for the first time in her life she feels safe and she knows that he will run away soon he finds out how broken she is. And there is also the thing about wanting something, liking something: when it’s taken from you the fall is hard. And she already had enough falls in her life.

description

But Blaine has demons of his demons and it’s not willing to give up on Kami. He knows that he have to saver and expurgate her demons. Even if it is the last thing he ever does. After all, you don’t turn your back on those who mean something to you.

description

This was a beautiful story. Kami’s and Blaine’s love is something amazing to see.
Sometimes in your life will appear someone that will turn it upside-down and you know that nothing will ever be the same.
This book is wonderfully written and you will not be able to drop it for a second.
If you like book with strong protagonists, great supportive characters, romance, steam and some angst, than this is definitely for you.
Fallen Crest High (Fallen Crest High, #1) - Tijan 4 Awesomely screwed up stars!

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about this book is that these characters are completely messed up. And considering the amount of books I read and the amout of crazy characters with whom I cross, that’s saying A LOT. Nonetheless, I just couldn’t put it down.

description

Samantha has a screw up life. She has a shitty cheater boyfriend and cheaters girl-friends. And to top that her mom suddenly resolves to divorce her father and go live with another man. But nooooo, not just any man: James Kade, the dearest father of Mason and Logan Kade, the most popular and famous brothers in town.
Hot, sexy and rich bad boys either you want to be them or want to be with them.

description

Somehow they end up putting Sam under their wings and along the way, Mason and Sam start to grow feelings very far from “brotherly”. Which is not good considering that they soon going to be step-brothers.
But then again, their families are completely f***ed up, so it’s not that weird, considering all that happens inside it.

description

I can’t tell you more because this book is crazy. Crazy, I tell you. There’s always something completely screwed up happening. Almost everyone is a bitch or an asshole and the hole “high-school-secret-popularity-hierarchy” is in full force.
And the adults in this book are even more messed up than the teenagers. Talk about crazy folks!

description

So yeah, basically this book is awesome. Sam is awesome and really don’t care about anything that is thrown at her, Mason is hot in a discreet way and Logan is pretty sexy and cool too.
It’s a really addictive book and you just HAVE to read it. ;)
Frigid - J. Lynn, Jennifer L. Armentrout 5 Snow Bunnies Stars!!

Okay, I know I’m biased because I pretty much love everything that Jennifer Armentrout writes. But I’ve got to say that I loved this. Every second of it.

description

So, Kyler and Sydney are best friends since they were kids.
Sydney is a little uptight good girl that’s in love with Kyler since forever. But she knows Kyler doesn’t do the commitment thing: He sees, he does, and he leaves. And she knows that he will never see more in her that a best friend.
So for years she suffers, watching him with a different girl every night and knowing that she will never one of them, let along be the one who stays there all the nights.

description

Kyler had a rough past and that made him not having the best idea about himself.
He’s in love with Sydney for years but he doesn’t even know why she wants to be friends with him, so why she would want to be more?
He doesn’t believe he deserves her so he searches for something to feel that void in other girls. Too bad that void is never filled.

description

But when they are stuck alone and together in the middle of a snowstorm, the pressure begins to rise and the stakes are getting higher.
And when things start to get unraveled, their relationship will reach a point that they’ll never be able to go back from. And they have to know what to do with that.

description

I loved this book. (I know, I’m repeating myself!)
I love their relationship and how it developed. Although annoying me a little, I also liked Sydney a lot. But meh, the female protagonists normally annoy me, so that’s okay.
I definitely loved Kyler. He is sweet, and cocky and extremely sexy.
Well, there’s really nothing more to say except that this is a book you can’t and will not want to miss.

Awesome buddy read with my dearest friend Ana Rita.
The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies, #1) - Tarryn Fisher For the first time in my life I’m lost for words. And believe me, put me off of speaking capacity it’s something VERY hard to achieve.
I don’t know how to process this book or how to review it. This was a completely crazy mindfuck. Therefore, it was totally awesome.

description

I’m really not going to explain the story and tell you what happened through this book because it’s basically impossible. There’s always something completely mad happening and there’s moments when it’s hard to keep pace with the book.
Most of the time you will be asking yourself:

description

But one thing you can be sure of:

description

This author sure as hell has a gift to make us wonder if we love or hate the characters. Sometimes we even feel both of them at the same time. But you can be sure as hell that you will not be able to put this book down.
What I can in all honesty say, after finishing this is:

description

So… Miss Tarryn Fisher:
description

And for ending this, this book is a sick and twisted story but I can only tell you:

description
No Strings Attached - Nicolette Day The only bad thing about this is that it was too short. I needed more pages!!

description

Jace and Hayden are friends for years, secretly loving each other for a long time. But now Hayden lands her dream job that involves have to leave the country and Jace isn't happy about it.
So when he knows that she plans to a have a one-night-stand before she leaves, he believes that they should do it. And that will change everything. Because when you are in love with someone one-night-stands just DON’T happen and become forgotten the next morning.

This was a really good novella. If this had a “normal-book-length” it would be an awesome book. Anyway, it was a great, quick reading with a sexy-hero, which is always welcome! ;)
Facade (Games, #2) - Nyrae Dawn “I think when love sneaks up on you, when it grabs onto you when you least expect it, maybe that's more of a sign that it's real. That it's meant to be and nothing could stop the two of you from falling for each other.”

This second installment tells us the story of Adrian (Remember him? Colt’s best friend?) and Laney.
Everyone thinks that the only thinks Adrian likes is partying and smoking drugs. What nobody knows is that he neither like the partying nor the drugs. For moments he just wants to stay completely numb and forget.

description

He doesn’t want to feel… because feeling implies suffering.
He is broken by a lost in his past and he just wants to get through the day without being haunted by it.

description

Laney is also broken by her past. The difference is that she copes with it by trying to save everyone around her, since she can’t save the only who really matters: herself.

description

So when she and Adrian meet, she wants to save him and he doesn’t want to be saved.
But their past is entwined more than he imagines and after Laney enter his life, he will be forced to remember things he don’t want to deal with and maybe realize that in order to heal, we have to bleed first.
Their romance was really good to see.

description

I think I liked this book even more than the first one. Although they pissed me off in one time or another, their connection felt very real and the development of the story was pretty good.
The supportive characters were also very good and it was great to see more of Chey and Colt and the bond between all of them.
Definitely a series that you shouldn’t miss out on. :)
Pulse (Collide, #2) - Gail McHugh Okay, give me a moment to breathe.

description

This was so, SOOO, good. I’m not completely recovered yet, so I’ll probably have some trouble doing this review. Mainly, because I have no idea what to say except: awesome.
The book started right after the end of the first, when Emily finally got some sense in his head and left Dillon and gone to fight for Gavin.
She knows that she was stupid and did a lot of things wrong, she knows that Gavin probably won’t take her back, especially when she did a lot mistakes. But damn, if she isn’t going to try.

description

But Dillon’s ghost is still very present and when something happens they’ll will have to fight harder than ever (which isn’t easy) for their relationship.
And this “little thing” has the power of getting them together… or make them falling apart for good.

description

I loved this book even more than the first one. I didn't know that would be possible considering that the first one was real great.
It wasn't as much angsty (thank god!), but it was way sweeter and romantic. And the steam was better. Believe there was a lot of “shmexy” scenes.

Emily really redeemed herself in my eyes and she had a great attitude through this whole book
Gavin, well… was even more perfect than before. *le sigh*

description

The supportive characters were great in this book as well, probably more than in the first even. Did I already told that I love Olivia? For some seconds she really pissed me off, but other than that she was as great as before.
Dillon was the exactly same asshole he was in the first one. Probably even more. Luckily he doesn’t appear as much as in the first. But all the times he appears were that number of times too many. Stupid asshole.

description

Well, I can only say that this was an amazing ending for a perfect series. I loved the conclusion, loved how the characters ending, loved everything.
I was great to get to know Molly’s and Mrs. Tall, Dark and Fuckable Handsome’s story. I’ll re-read them a lot of times, for sure. :)
Collide (Collide, #1) - Gail McHugh “Sometimes bad choices bring us to the right people.”

Okay, I was waiting to read this book for months now… I’ve been postponing until the release of the second one, and boy… was I missing out!
If I knew this would be this good I would had started this before, even knowing about the cliffhanger.

description

Emily just moved to NY, to live with her best-friend Olivia and to stay close to her boyfriend, Dillon.
In her first day there and in her new job she meets Gavin and that’s when it all starts. A there-is-now-way-we-can-stop-this kind of attraction is immediately born between them and they can do nothing to stop it.
Unfortunately, right after they find out that Dillon is Gavin friend and they are forced to spend a lot of time together without being able to have anything with the other… which doesn’t help their growing attraction. And as they start to know more about the other, that attraction starts growing into something more and neither of them can ever go back to the beginning.

“I want the late-night drives, the sunset watching, the screaming, the yelling, and the crying. I know I'll definitely want the make-up sex that comes after all of the screaming and crying. I want the good, the bad, and the in-between. All of it is what's going to make us amazing together.”

description

Let me to this by list to be clearer:
1.Gavin is sexy as hell and I’m probably in love with him. I just can picture Henry Cavill as him. I can’t help it. (I usually don’t characterize, but this time was so clear in mind!!)

description

2.Emily, although really pissing me off in several moments (Almost as many as Kiera in Thoughtless… and that’s a hard thing to achieve!), I ended up liking her a lot. I could understand her reasons. It isn’t easy to give up safety.

3.Awesome supportive characters, but especially Olivia. Best friend ever! I loved her.

4.I HATE DILLON and I want to stab him with a fork.

description

5.Pretty frustrating cliff-hanger. But the book is worth the reading nonetheless. It’s sexy, sweet and addictive. Can’t wait to start the next one… in fact: I NEED IT NOW!!!

Their relationship was great to see and despite the HUGE emotional rollercoaster, I found myself falling for them and their love.

“When you want something this badly, you don't just give up. You fight and fight until you absolutely can't fight anymore.”

An amazing book. :)
Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2) - Colleen Hoover “I wonder if it's possible for people to fall in love with a person one characteristic at a time, or if you fall for the entire person at once.”

description

Okay, I will not explain the story behind this book because it’s the exactly same one than the first one. If you haven’t read it yet, I advise you to do it faster.
I will only say that this was already an amazing story under Sky’s POV and it was even a greater one under Holder’s. Oh, how I love his mind and the fact that he never actually lose hope.

description

Usually, when I read books under the hero’s POV the girl annoys the hell out of me. I’m happy to say that didn't happen in this one. I liked Sky as much as I in the first book and the connection she and Holder have is one of the amazing things in this book.
How he falls in love with Sky, for the girl she is now, and not because she’s Hope, the girl he searches since he was a kid.

“But I'm not falling in love with her piece by piece anymore. I'm in love with the whole girl. Every single piece of her.”

description

Although this book was sadder than the first with the entire Les story, it was also better and had the addiction of some great characters (Yes, Daniel!! A book about him would be the greatest thing ever!)

I really don't know what to say. I loved it. :D
I couldn’t get enough of Holder’s mind and if I had one complaint, and it’s just one, I wish a longer epilogue. (Both in time and in length.)
If you liked the first, you really can’t miss this one. :)
Axel (Corps Security, #1) - Harper Sloan “I can feel the sun warming my skin. I love this blissful state between sleep and just waking. But I no longer relish this moment for being numb, no…now I relish this moment because it reminds me I am alive.”

This was the story of Izzy and Axel. They were completely in love with each other but when Axel leaves for the Marines, fate somehow drives them apart. But they both know that they will never love someone as much as they loved the other.

description

12 years later they meet again. Izzy is trying to get out from an abusive marriage and Axel was the guy designed to protect her.
Neither of them is the same person anymore and a lot has happen in the past: especially a lot of lies, secrets and miscommunication.
But the feelings that never left are coming back stronger than never and when truth starts to unravel, things will never be the same again. This time they won’t let fate screw with them again.

description

This was a great reading. Nothing like a good old alpha-male book!
Axel is sexy and protective. Not to mention he’ll do anything to get Izzy back on his side. Izzy although annoying me sometimes, it was great too. When she wasn’t hided under her past shadows, she had pretty awesome remarks.
The supportive characters were also great, I can’t wait to read their books (Especially Greg’s and Maddox ones!)

The only reason I’m not giving this book 5 stars is because the word “fucking” was used too many times (I mean, there has to be a limit to say it!!) and the lack of communication really pissed me off.

Other than that, this was a great book. I couldn't even sleep before finishing it.
I will definitely follow this series :)
Edible (Exquisite, #3) - Ella Frank This third and final book in the Exquisite Series was the story of Rachel and Cole.
As you all know (or at least you should know it by now!) Rachel is Mason’s sister and Cole is Josh’s friend and lawyer.

And let me tell you people, if you haven’t start reading this series I advise you to “get on it” and real fast because I'm telling you, you're seriously missing out. And I’m always right on these things. And everything else, for that matter. Stop laughing!
Let me just start by telling you:

description

I already loved the first two, but this? This was by far the best. I loved every single moment of it. It would go from tremendously sweet to extremely hot in nanoseconds and I didn't knew if I should smile or spray myself with very cold water… but it was one of the best readings I had in a while. The heroes made me love their story from page one.

“How is it that you make me want so many things I had sworn I could do without?”

Cole is sexy as sin. Believe people, there’s nothing hotter than a slightly bad tattooed alpha-male hiding under a suit. NOTHING. I think I fell in love with him and he definitely shook my book-boyfriends list.

description

Rachel is also pretty awesome. She stands up for what she believes and wants and don't let her past get through her. Or at least she tries hard.
Their chemistry was amazing and we feel connect to them during the whole length of the book.

I loved to see all the other characters from the previous books and that epilogue was great. It was SO good and hopefully, we’ll see more of them in Logan’s book that I CAN’T wait to read.
Again… if you haven't read this series yet, go start now. Better late than never! :)
