Too many books, too little time.
Rock Chick - Kristen Ashley 5 Diamond Stars!!

description

Indy and Lee know each other since they are kids. They lived in opposite sides of the street, her dad and his parents were best friends and Indy and Ally, Lee’s younger sisters, are best friends since they’re babies.
Indy had a crush on Lee for many years, but he always turned her down and one day he told him that she would always be his little sister best friend, therefore, nothing could happen between the two of them
Indy feels broken, humiliated and knows this is the last time she will try anything. From that day on, she gave up on her dream of being with Lee.

description

Ten years passed, during which she was able to basically avoid Lee in every party or family reunion (basically a LOT of them!) and move on and meet other people. In that time Indy stayed loyal to her rock chick lifestyle and Lee became a badass and no one knows exactly what he does. So, when one of Indy’s friends gets in trouble over some stolen diamonds, Lee is the person who she has to turn to, in order to save his friend, and herself. Ans he takes the task with pleasure… maybe too much.

description

You see, the thing is: Indy never really got over Lee, and he had his own reasons to turn her down, being his little sisters best friend not one of them. And not being interested in her was absolutely not another reason. (You’ll have to read it to know more.)
And since he was looking for an opportunity to finally have her… well, this came as the perfect excuse. Even when she says that she doesn’t want him anymore, which he don’t believe, because… let’s be real: Who the hell wouldn’t want sexy alpha-male Lee??

description

Like any other Kristen Ashley book, this was awesome.
We had a hilarious and strong heroine, a sexy as all hell alpha- male hero, real great supportive characters, who I can’t wait to read their books and a sexy, fun and very sweet story. Go read this series, now ;)
Stripped - Jasinda Wilder 4 Dancing Stars!!

description

Grey has a dream. She wants to be a dancer. She wants to spend her life doing what she loves the most: losing herself in the music and in the moment and simply dance.

description

Unfortunately, being the daughter of a very rigid and old-fashioned pastor who doesn’t agree with that kind of lifestyle, she has to go away on her own and make a life for herself with the help of nobody.
So she ends up doing something like this so she can live:

description

In one of those nights she meets, Dawson, famous Hollywood actor who is believed being a spoiled and rich playboy. Although he is really not, fact that he tries to prove over and over.
So is basically immediate attraction and they know that there’s something between them that neither of them can deny.
But she is a broken soul and keeps pushing him away… and he constantly tries to save her.

description

Altought I really like the story and how it gone, Grey is preventing me of giving a higher rating.
She is just so whining, teary and annoying!! Get a grip, girl!!
She basically spends 80% of the book doing this:

description

Thank God for Dawson!! He is real great (and lets not forget sexy!) and I loved every single moment that he appeared!

description

So, if you’re a fan of the broken heroine (although a whiny one!) and of the sexy, savior and sweet hero… you really have to read this book! ;)
Love Thy Neighbour - Belle Aurora 5 Really neighborly stars!

description

This is the story of Natalie and Asher (aka Ghost).
Both of their best friends fell in love in the first book of this series (I really don’t know their story because for the first time in my life I started a series from the second book, I guess I’ll have to read it :P) .
A few months back, they had a really hot one-night-stand that neither of them could really forget, but when Asher wants another night, Natalie becomes scared of starting to have feelings for him and say that is better start avoiding each other. Ghost doesn’t like it very much, but he accepts. Not that he have other option, anyway.
But since he really can’t forget Natalie and nobody else can do what she can for him: make him feel in peace, since he is a broken soul, so he basically spends the next months doing one activity: screwing everything that moves.

description

When Natalie moves to a new home, in one of her first nights her neighbors won’t stop making noise… while having sex. And his new neighbor is nobody less than… Ghost. Obviously.
Since their attraction (and their complicity) is growing by the minute and they really can’t avoid each other anymore, they settle in being f*ck-buddies, because both of them have relationship issues (well, especially him!)

description

But although their physical relationship is hot. And believe me: Oh sooo hot!!, we all know where this is going. (Hey, nobody said that predictability is a bad thing!)

description

And well, you really have to read it to know the rest of their story, but it is SO worthy it.
This book is addictive, the characters (All of them!!) are awesome and it has just the right amount of fun, sweet, sexy (a lot!) and sometimes is heartbreakingly beautiful.
I seriously advise you to not miss out on this one ;)
Into the Deep - Samantha Young 4.5 Second Chance Stars!!

description

Charley and Jake were boyfriends in high-school. But not just young lovers, they had that kind of love so strong that everyone was certain that they would be forever.

“I knew after weeks of meeting you that I was never going to love another girl like I love you. You’re it for me. They write books about what we have.”

But unfortunately, life is unpredictable and something really bad happens that will end with Jake going away and leaving Charley. She is left broken with never really recover from it.
For almost 4 years she doesn’t know anything about Jake. He never tried to reach her again.

description

When she takes a year abroad in Edinburgh, on the third year of college, he is the first person she sees… with his girlfriend. (Who isn’t a bitch, so is really hard to hate her…)
Right from the moment he sees her, he tries to apologize and do everything he can to keep her in is life… but he hurt her too much and she can’t trust him. Not to mention that is very hard for her to be around him and her girlfriend.

But Jake is not if not persistent and he is determined to be forgiven for his past sins and not let her away again He is determined to have a second chance with Charley, even if she thinks that she doesn’t want that.

description

This was a really great reading. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 starts if because the end seemed to be rushed. It’s like Samantha suddenly remembered: “Hey! I can turn this into a series!!” and just stopped writing right there. If it was a stand alone with a few chapters longer and a nice epilogue and this would have been perfect.
The supportive characters were real great (I’m so hoping for a HEA for Claud and Bret!), as the main ones. Charley was an awesome heroine, which isn’t that common, and Jake even with all the pissing me off, was real great.
Believe me, this is a book you will don’t want to miss out on ;)
Keeping Her - Cora Carmack 4 Clumsy Stars!

description

This short story was real sweet.
It happens after Garrick and Bliss got engaged and they are going to London to meet Garrick’s father. And when they get there Bliss completely understands why he doesn't like to talk about his family.
And with the nerves getting the better of Bliss and increasing her clumsiness, she only wants to be accepted by his family.

I loved this sweet story. It was great to see more of them and just as the book, this was hilarious!!
If you are a fan of the series, you really can’t miss this! ;)
Frontline - Alexandra Richland 3.5 Possessive Stars!

This book tells us the story of Sara, 22 years old young nurse freshly out of nursing school and with a simple life, and Trenton, 30 years old gazillionaire and famous CEO of his own very lucrative company.
One night in the ER, she has to assist Trenton that arrives there with a head injury, and although they have an immediately chemistry, they don’t start on the right foot.
Not only Trenton has a lot of secrets that scare Sara, their personalities collide, with him being possessive and controlling and Sara wanting to control every aspect of her life.
And when secrets begin to unravel and unexpected and dangerous things start to occur, and they know that is directed to them, they must find out if there’s a time to be honest and fight… or if all the trouble is just not worth it.
All this wrapped in a very sexy man and a sexier background. Obviously.

description

Although I really liked this book and it was a good reading, there was some things that didn’t quite work for me.
First it was all too fast. From the first kiss, to the first date, to their happiness completely depend of the other was a question of a few days and it was TOO LITTLE time. It fell kind of rushed and in some moments a little forced.
The supportive characters were also good, but there was some unnecessary stuff happening there her two best friends with his two co-head chiefs of security and also friends? Really? I mean… how convenient is that??.
And the main characters BOTH annoyed in one time or another, and normally is just the girl who has that power over me.

Probably the problem is mine and I’m just growing too tired of these sexy-billionaires type of books (which would be a shame!), but I couldn't fully connect with this book.
Other than that, it was a good and entertaining reading and if you’re into this genre you should definitely give it a try. ;)
Present Perfect - Alison G. Bailey Five completely angsty and amazing “Tweet” Stars!!

This book left emotionally drained and looking like a balloon fish. I don’t remember crying this much with a book. But I wouldn’t change a thing.
This was, without a single doubt, one of the best books I’ve ever read. And I read a lot.

description

“You don’t need to be perfect in your life, but always be present in it. The present is the most perfect gift you can have.”

Amanda believes that she has to be perfect, but also that she’s far from it. The only perfect thing in her life is Noah, and their friendship, since they’re best friends since ever.
And when they get older and friendship starts to grow into love she doesn’t want it because she’s afraid of not being good enough for him and that she will eventually ruin everything and ending up losing the most important person in her life: Noah.
He doesn’t see her any less than perfect, but she is able of believing that.

description

But life has its own way of surprising us and it takes us to the most unexpected places, make us meet the most wonderful people and make us learn how to live when everything seems darker every day.
And life taught Amanda and Noah a lot of things, and the most important of them was never, ever, give up.
“Tweet” and Noah story takes the length of several years, it’s consuming, full of angst, of loyalty, love and friendship, and it’s utterly beautiful.

description

If there are any books that teach us a life lesson, this was definitely one of them. I loved every single second of it (including the ones where I was crying like a baby, which was a lot) and I ended up this reading wanting…no…needing to enjoy and appreciate my life more, because all we believe it’s certain, can change in a single second.

description

I don’t like to impose books to people, but I strongly advise you reading this one. It’s completely amazing, with wonderful and complex characters (I LOVED NOAH SO MUCH!!), and a achingly wonderful story.
You will end this book a new and better person, I assure you.
(This book is definitely one of the reasons I love indie authors: we found real jewels like this reading.)
The Bite That Binds (Deep In Your Veins, #2) - Suzanne Wright 5 Biding Stars!!

I can’t believe that this series already ended. Two books is not enough for this. I need one more… or three, or four.
This was seriously amazing.

description

This books takes place a few days after the Binding Ceremony and a lot of problems starts to rise. Between Magda, Jared’s Sire /Ex-lover that demands be present in the ceremony and is obviously not over Jared yet, between a new and f***ed up assignment and a something really strange happening to Sam that nobody knows how to stop it, they have to decide if the Binding is happening in the best of times.
But well, Jared’s being the sexy overprotective jackass that he is, he’s even more determined in helping Sam while keeping the ceremony.
And between a lot of drama, and action, and sweet hotness and unexpected turns, this books turned out even better than the first one.
And even hotter (which believe me… it’s hard! Pun non-intended, I swear!!)

description

I don’t know how Suzanne does it, but she has the gift of creating the most amazing heroines and the sexiest in a bad-boy way heroes. I can’t remember a single one of her characters that I haven’t loved.
Not to mention that her writing is awesome and keep us stuck since page one. I can only say that I truly hope that will be more books of this series. I haven’t give up hope that we’ll have one about Evan and Alora’s story ;)
Extra scenes (Tangled, #1.1) - Emma Chase I didn't even realized how I've missed Drew until I've read this two short stories.
He is as awesome as before. And I really loved to see Kate's POV in one of the stories, she as (almost!) an hilarious (and pervy) mind as Drew has.

If you liked Tangled, you can't miss out on this stories :P
Here Be Sexist Vampires (Deep In Your Veins, #1) - Suzanne Wright 5 Great biting stars!!

I was in the mood for a vampire book (which is already weird since I’m not normally the biggest fan of PNR), and somehow this one stumbled on my sight.
Well, it was a good thing that it did because this was just… awesome.
Vampires totally got on my high ranking again!

description

So, basically Sam is a Sventé vampire, the less powerful of the three breeds of vampires, but she is unusual strong and gifted.
So she is scouted to be a member of the High Master security team and anxious to leave her horrible master she accepts. When she gets there she finds out that she have to deal with a lot of sexist and strong vampires that doesn’t believe in her capacities since she is not only a sventé but also a female.
Not that she cares… after all she is a badass bitch, so she puts everyone of them in their place.

description

Well, everyone except Jared. One of the commanders and the Heir of the High Master. And he especially does not believe that she is capable of doing that job.
Forced to work together, things will heat: first their anger against each other, since they want to be in each other’s throat basically all the time.

description

But as she keeps proving her value and they get to know more about the other things start to change and anger gives place to other kind of feeling… and between a lot of action, drama and awesome things, hotness starts to come! And believe me, it is hot!!

description

Well, I read basically all the books from Suzanne Wright at this point, and boy, this woman as a real gift of creating the most sexy alpha-males and the most awesome badass heroines. I fell in love with her characters in every single book and this was no exception.
The book is just great, addicting and you just can’t stop reading it. Not to mention the steam (oh so steamy!) scenes.
If you’re into PNR (or even if you’re not!) you’re going to love this. Go read now, people ;)
Shine Not Burn - Elle Casey 4 Cowboy Stars!!

This one of those books that came completely by surprise. I even never heard of it and suddenly I’ve read a great friend review and I gave it a try.
Well, thank God for friend’s reviews, this was awesome!!

description

So, this books starts in Las Vegas. In one of her best-friends bachelorette party and is recently out of a relationship with a shitty boyfriend so she does what every girl in her situation does: drink. And then some more. And drink just a little more. And a little more just to finish the night.
And between all this drink she meets a sexy (Oh so sexy!) cowboy and things get hot and well…

description

Of course she doesn’t remember almost anything of what happened that night, except that she had hot sex with an even hotter guy and she goes home again and life moves on.
Two years later she is engaged with an even worst guy than the previous ex-boyfriend when she finds out that she is, well, married.

I guess what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas!

So she goes there to get a divorce but when she sees him again, she starts to remember why she ended up marrying him in first place and when she finds out that he knew exactly what he was doing that nigh… well, let me just say that this is the point where the story starts to get REALLY good.

description

Although it felt a little forced and rushed in some moments (ergo, the only 4 starts rating), I really liked this book.
Its writing is addictive, has extremely likeable characters and although the slightly predictable story line, it was an awesome reading. Not to mention the really hot moments.
You definitely should try it ;)
Unteachable - Leah Raeder 5 Amazing roller-coaster stars!!

What was supposed to be a simple and quick reading, turned out into one of the most amazing books I’ve read in a long time and this story will stay with me for an even longer time.

description

“You can call it love, or you can call it freefall. They're pretty much the same thing.”

Love isn’t always easy. It always happens how we want it and when we want it. Sometimes it’s unexpected and starts with a roller-coaster.
It starts with a falling and it couldn’t be more accurate because find love is falling faster by the second and not even caring about it.

Sometimes it’s with the wrong person at the wrong time. Sometimes it’s between a student and a teacher and it’s forbidden. But you can help it, because when both of you have ghosts and a dark past, that love, as forbidden as it is, slowly starts to heal you.

description

Part of falling in love with someone is actually falling in love with yourself.

Despite the angst and the emotional roller-coaster, I loved every second of this book and its characters. And I loved that although being a teacher / student story it wasn’t creepy at all, but really beautiful.
Maise is not your traditional annoying heroine, she is fierce, knows what she wants and she’s kind of a badass bitch. I loved her.
And I especially loved how sweet and caring Evan is with her.

description

I think that what got in this book, even more than the story, was the writing.
Leah has a simply amazing writing style and a huge capacity of creating intricate and utterly incredible characters. She got me addicted in the first line and that addiction didn’t stop until the last word.
I’ll definitely grab without hesitation anything this woman writes.

If there are books that in the end of their reading teach us something and make us see the world in a completely different light, this book is definitely one of those.
Kaleb (Alluring Indulgence, #1) - Nicole Edwards 3.5 “sandwich” stars!

Well, when I started reading this book I knew that would be some steam. But boy, I didn’t expect that much steam.
Seriously, they were having sex basically all the time.

description

So, this was the story of Zoey and well… Kaleb. They were best friends for years and always had a “thing” for each without the other even imagine (Don’t they always?), but were always able to ignore said feelings and stay only friends.
One day, without notice those feelings start to change and suddenly their relationship takes a huge turn.
Well, there are a lot of others things happening, including a shitty ex-husband and a shittier ex-girlfriend, but the main line is basically that.
And there was a lot of sex. And kinky one, too.

description

I was in the mood for something light, sweet, with some steam and fast to read. And this book is exactly that. If you want to read one of those books who will remain in your head for weeks and full of angst… well, not this one.
But if you want something fast, funny, sexy (a lot!) and entertaining… this is basically perfect and has an attractive writing style and likeable characters.
Give it a try! ;)
The Redemption of Callie & Kayden - Jessica Sorensen 5 Amazing redeeming starts!!

I’ve waited months for this book and in the end of reading it the only thing I have to say is: Totally worth the wait!!

description

“I wish for happiness in a world full of sorrow. “

After that horrible and crazy cliffhanger in the end of the first book, things aren’t looking pretty for Callie and Kayden.
She doesn’t know how to help him and can’t even see him which doesn’t help with her own problems that seem to aggravate during the time Kayden’s closed in a mental facility.
But although Kayden realizes that the only thing he truly wants is Callie, he refuses to let her get into his messed up life and head. He doesn’t think he can be saved or loved, so he pushes away everyone that is trying.

description

But Callie knows that even when Kayden pushes her away that’s his own way of asking for help se decides that she will not give up on him. She will save him, even when he thinks he doesn’t want to.
She will show him that he deserves love and happiness, even when it means her giving up her own secrets and traumas.

description

And Kayden, even believing that there’s no solution for him, he knows that he can’t give up on Callie. He has to protect from her past, from her ghosts and make her life bright again. If if that brightness comes from a place where he doesn’t belong in.

description

So not giving up on the other they will eventually find strength together to deal with their ghosts and the darkness in their pasts, so they can finally find happiness in a world where sorrow peaks in every corner.
And their ride is just beautiful! : )

description

This book was even more angsty and broken than the previous one. But not less achingly beautiful.
Although Kayden pissed me off in several moments, I could see where he was coming from and I still loved him. And I especially loved Callie, her strength really surprised in this one.
Luke and Seth were here too and they are their awesome selves. We find out a little more about Luke and I can’t wait to read his book! ;)
The parents were all awful, really, all of them. I felt like killing them every time one of them appeared.

Anyway, this was a really good reading and I’m happy that I could read their story! ;)
If you haven’t started on these books yet, you probably should start right now!
Officer off Limits - Tessa Bailey 4 Sunshine Stars!

These series should come with a warning: Cops are pretty damn sexy!
I know we love a good bad-boy, but let me tell you, these bad boys in the good side of the law are some hot alpha-males and you just have to know them!!

description

This third and final book tells us the story of Story (yes, that’s her name!) and Daniel. When Daniel’s mentor and boss goes to the hospital, her daughter comes to visit him.

With a hard past and a recently broke engagement, she really doesn’t need to feel as attracted as she is for her father’s work partner. Especially when they live in different states and he is a known playboy.

Until she starts to know him and finding out a lot more about him than people give credit for and things starts to change.

Daniel don’t believe in being worthy of a girl like her. But he believes in loyalty and Jack’s was very clear when he said: You’re a playboy. Stay the hell away from my daughter.
(not exactly these words, but you get the message.)
You see where this is going, right?? Their reactions were something like:

description

And well, you know what they say about the forbidden fruit…

description

And as they start to know more about the other (in many, many ways *discreet giggle* ) feelings starts to change and that could be a problem.
This book was pretty damn good. Tessa Bailey is definitely an author to have on the watch. I think I’ll read basically anything she writes.
Especially if she continues to write hot (oh, so hot!) books like this one. (All of them in this series, really. )
If you haven’t read yet… what the hell are you waiting for??
Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) - Joanna Wylde 4.5 Galloping Stars!!

Okay, I’m really sorry and displease with myself on why it took me so long to read this book. This was so awesome!!

description

So, Marie is the tradition good girl with a bad past and bad surroundings and a shitty ex-husband and she is trying to forget the creature existence.
Her brother, who she is very close with and basically the person she loves the most is also pretty stupid and put himself in a very bad situation with the Reapers MC.
And if you mess with them, you will surely have to pay for your mistake.

description

Horse (yeah, even his name is sexy!), didn’t expect to fell head over heels for Marie. But hell if he didn’t.
But since she really can't comprehend his life style their relationship does not evolve in the beginning, but after her brother’s little stunt, Horse makes a deal with her: her brother is safe as long she goes live with him and learn to live the MC lifestyle.

After that, Marie starts to see that their life isn't just drugs, bikes and bad ass guys. But still, it’s a world apart from hers and when things have everything to go wrong, they'll have to find out how willing they are to adapt.

But with a sexy man like Horse, really, how hard can that be?? (No, no pun intended here!! *giggles*)

description

This book got me hooked since the first page, hell, since the first line. It’s not a “little-miss-sunshine” love story, so if you’re kind of prude or sensible probably this isn't the best book for you. Sometimes it’s rude and rough on the edges, but it’s so AWESOME.
And did I already told you… sexy???

Seriously people, go read it! ;)
(Although I'm probably the only person who hasn't read it, yet!)
